Waldron’s Place

Community Benefits

Welcome — Community Benefits
Community Benefits

Walking, cycling and bus enhancements

Creating a well-connected neighbourhood will help make it easier for residents to move around and access facilities both within the site and beyond.

Waldron’s Place aims to encourage sustainable travel through:

  • New and enhanced walking and cycling infrastructure, making every day journeys more convenient and enjoyable
  • Links to surrounding areas and wider routes, building upon existing Public Rights of Way
  • Much improved public transport infrastructure, including better bus services that serve the whole community
Community Benefits

Homes for everyone

Waldron’s Place could provide around 900 new homes, including a range of house types and tenures designed to foster a strong sense of community, from starter homes to family housing and accommodation suitable for downsizers.

A significant proportion of the homes are expected to be affordable, ensuring that we respond to local need and create a place that everyone can be proud to call home.

Community Benefits

A place that brings people together

The proposals include a new local centre, which could provide a range of facilities and services for residents and the wider community, with the potential for:

  • Community facilities
  • A convenience store
  • Flexible workspace
  • A central public square

A new public square at the heart of the development could provide a welcoming focal point for the community, creating space for events and activities that everyone can enjoy.

Community Benefits

Daily enjoyment of green space

With over half the site expected to be publicly accessible green and open space, the landscape-led development would support health, wellbeing and biodiversity.

A new country park for north Crewe would create opportunities for new walking routes, sports provision and quieter spaces to relax and enjoy nature.
