The proposals
A high-quality, sustainable place to live
The emerging proposals seek to create a high-quality and sustainable place to live, with homes, green spaces and facilities designed to support both new and existing communities.
The proposals have been shaped by three main design principles:
- Integrated landscape
- Connected place
- Strong sense of identity and community offer
While we are at an early stage of the development process, we believe Waldron’s Place could provide:
- New and enhanced walking and cycling connections
- Around 900 new homes, with a mix of housing types and tenures to meet local needs
- A significant proportion of affordable housing
- Green and open space across at least 55% of the site
- A new local centre, including community facilities, convenience store, and flexible workspace
- A central public square for community events and activities
- Much improved public transport infrastructure, including new bus services
- A country park for north Crewe, with links to wider walking routes
