Stage One Consultation
What You Told Us
Thank you to everyone who took part in our first consultation in June 2026. You told us about traffic and safety, protecting local wildlife, and the need for genuine long-term investment in this area, and we’ve listened. Here’s how your feedback has directly shaped the emerging proposals:
Safer streets – The Warmingham Road / Broughton Road junction has been redesigned with cyclists and pedestrians in mind with increased pavement sizes; added cycle path; and a crossing connecting to a Public Right of Way to the north.
Waldron’s Lane access – Private vehicle access will be retained for existing homes, while the wider lane becomes a safe walking and cycling route.
School safety – The school has been resized to suit local need, and repositioned with safer road setbacks and traffic calming measures.
An enhanced Country Park – Including new trails, play spaces, a dog walking area, and potential for a small car park for visitors and birdwatchers.
Better connections – An extended bus route is being progressed, with ongoing talks with Cheshire East Council regarding long term funding.
A strong local centre – This could include shops, a café, a GP surgery or pharmacy, a children’s nursery, apartments on upper floors, and specialist accommodation for older residents.
